I’m The Taxman

Let me tell you how it will be;
There’s one for you, nineteen for me.
‘Cause I
m the taxman,
Yeah, I
m the taxman.

Should five per cent appear too small,
Be thankful I don‘t take it all.
‘Cause I
m the taxman,
Yeah, I
m the taxman.  – The Beatles

As Tax Day arrives here in the United States, the amount of taxes you pay can be greatly affected by how you have chosen to setup your business.

One of my core beliefs is that we owe it to ourselves (and our businesses) to pay the lowest legal amount of taxes. This is an area that we are going to explore in more depth over the next four days leading up to April 15.  How to legally pay less taxes…

I hope that you all have an awesome Easter Sunday…

Rob

    OH YEAH!!

Tax time…lol I like you believe in the legal reduction of the amount you give away from all your hard earned effort! The less the better!!

As one Australian tycoon once said in a tax inquiry into his business affairs said in court: “If you pay more than tax than you shold be, then you are a blood idiot!.”

I still haven’t figured out how the idea that a portion of everything I make belongs to the government, or anyone else for that matter. It’s my money and I should take every effort to shield it from theft, especially theft form the government who, as we can see, can’t seem to manage their own financial affairs and need to steal more and more money from citizens like me to finance their corrupt and wasteful ways.

Get a corporation and keep more of your hard earned cash.

Amen to that, Steve! I have a similar and different vantage point. I’m always wondering about all the programs and initiatives which must be paid for that the government runs. I’m always wondering, “WHAT on EARTH business is that of the GOVERNMENT?”

There just are NOT a lot of things the government should be running. Roads/Freeways, infrastructure, police, armies (I still like the militia model from the 18th century but that is so States’ rights oriented…) yeah, those I get it. All the social welfare? huh? why why why

Rob, GREAT song selection. Of course, anything by The Beatles and you have my attention anyway.

    All the best,

We fully agree! The less tax paid -while remaining within the framework of the law- the better! Looking forward to your posts on ways to reduce one’s tax bill.

Hopefully, the “Tea Parties” to be held around the country (USA) on April 15th will be well attended and send a message to Washington!

I would be very interested in this information, I’ve never been able to deduct very much. I certainly look forward to changing that.

    Thanks

I look forward to reading your insights on how to legally pay less taxes in the US.

I’ve recently been trying to better understand the French tax code to assist my mother. I bet comparing both systems will be interesting!

Got me singing on this one. Like April and most of your followers, I just don’t get it that the government needs all this money from me and bridges are falling down. I grew up in Kern County, CA. We joked about how the pot holes got filled in election years. Taxes don’t go for ongoing goverment responsibilities, they go to buy votes was the lesson I learned very early.
