Great Minds Think Alike?

Personal Development

Did you ever notice that when two people have the same idea at the same time, often the phrase “Great Minds think alike” is uttered by one of the two idea originators?

Well, couldn’t it just as well be “Poor Minds think alike”?

Let’s skip school and steal a car… Great minds think alike?

Let’s drop our prices to where we don’t make a profit any more and hope to make it up in volume… Great minds think alike?

In many situations the correct answer and the right course of action is to do the opposite of what the others with “Poor minds” are doing.  And that is the sign of a “Great mind”…

Have a great Sunday…

Rob

    Rob,

    Good contrarian thinking!

Same feathers gather together. And that’s why we need to choose carefully our friends and (mental) companion as well!

I concur with you and Steve. Indeed, with whom we associate stimulates our minds to think like them. There’s a quote I think in Proverbs about that and the company of fools. Indeed.

This is why once we have some dating momentum established, it is very important to establish good Dating Criteria and actually contemplate with whom and what sort of person we want to invest our precious life with. So many younger singles just sort of stumble into dating and go with attraction and affection. Indeed, we come to care about those with whom we hang out all the time.

    Choose that company well!

    Rob,

Before reading your post, I had never thought of that phrase (great minds think alike) in that manner. Great post! I found it entertaining because of the way it caused me to think of the phrase. I found it enlightening for the same reason.

That was a fabulous post! I love it “lets skip school and steal a car – great minds think alike.” You’re too much. Yes, I guess poor minds do think alike as well.

Good point and the follow up to that is to associate with the kind of great minds you want to be like. It will stimulate the kind of great thinking you want. For instance – this team.

Rob, I think it matters the context of the statement. If two people agree on something then it does not mean much. However, I have noticed many posts on the course coming at around the same time. I have a posted a couple of times and found posts on the same type of information that were written before I posted but I did not see them till after. I love a similar quote, “Two minds thinking together create a third mind” Mark
