Get Caught In a Grateful Loop!

Hi All,

A very short post today that was spurred by something Frank Kern said last night as we were finishing the first day of Mass Control 2.0 event.

Frank’s point was that most people are stuck in a loop of Wrong Actions, that is filled with Escape and resentment and feelings of inadequacy and it all feeds on itself.  The majority of people are stuck in some variation of this loop.

Instead, try to get stuck in a Grateful loop, where you wake up Grateful that you live in perhaps the easiest time in human history to get ahead and to do so without back-breaking work.  Count your blessings that other people have built the infrastructure that allows us to do business anywhere in the world from our cell phones and laptops without the need to invest in expensive brick-and-mortar businesses that we are then chained to.  Be grateful that we live into our 70’s, 80’s and higher with great health in many cases…

By starting out grateful, this feeds positive emotions and reactions which leads us to take the “Right Actions” that will propel us forward creating more gratefulness and more positive feelings in an awesome feedback loop.

So, spend ten minutes the first thing in the morning counting your blessings and being grateful. And “blessings” are those things given to you without any action on your part, there are a lot of them for most people…

Now I’m off for Day 2.

Seize the Day,

Rob

    Hi Rob,

Your post is great advice for us to wake up with positive attitude and look at the world in a BETTER view then complaining on what we don’t have. I think we should write ot five questions we can ask ourselves each morning that would put us in a positive state.

I remember Tony Robbins promoting a 7-day positive mental diet and how hard it was to go for 7 days being grateful and thinking positive. The effort did pay off greatly however.

I do try to have a positive attitude as much as possible. I learned that from Loretta Laroche years ago! If you wake up tired and grumpy and complaing all day about how you only got 3 hours of sleep, you’re going to feel tired and grumpy all day. Yet if you get up and have a positive attitude, you might feel a little tired at some point but you’ll really be fine most of the day. Works for me!

Great advice for all of us. My direct practice is basically working with people who are suck in there own loop and need to break the old negative pattern and create a new positive one.

Great advice. This makes a massive difference.

I tried the Tony Robbins 7-day positive mental diet a couple of times. It’s a very very hard but very valuable experience.

    Enjoy the Frank.

Excellent advice. I actually also intended to write about the importance of starting the day this way. I personally have a list by my bedside with the key successes I have experienced and all the reasons I have to be grateful. Reviewing it every morning certainly helps start the day in a positive frame of mind.

    All the best,

Thanks for the post. I’ve seen a couple of Franks videos.

A great way to set your day off on a positive note which I’m guessing is not how most people would start

Great post. One really does not have to look very hard or very far to see how much one has compared to many others (including opportunities). Thanks, Rob.

I like Frank Kern. Never met him but like him. I have added a twice daily gratitude practice that follows my Zen practice. It has been one of the most beneficial things I have ever done in my life. No matter how negative an emotional, physical or mental state I am in, it is gone after I bring gratitude into my heart. Much of the good stuff we do centers around thinking and we often neglect the heart.

    Rob,

Your post makes me think of Steven Covey’s 90/10 principle. Only 10% of things happen in we cannot control, the 90% we can thru’ our response or reaction to that 10%.

It’s how we handle the 10% events that make or break our day.
